    My philosophy regarding Mixing: 

    As a Mixing Engineer, I take your recordings and blend them together to make a cohesive and dynamic song. To me, the most important tools to a Mixing Engineer are good ears, great gear, experience, and a balanced life. 

    
    

    
    

    I think mixing is the art of balancing sounds between two extremes. But, there is nothing worse than a balanced mix…that's Vanilla. If nothing else, my mixes are never vanilla. Rather, the art is in the imbalance between extremes, how that evokes the strength of the music, and how that counterbalances with the listener’s own life. 

    
    
    While I’m really not as cerebral as all of that might sound, I throw this philosophy out there because I do think that mixing is assumed to be a technical job. For me, mixing is as much a creative process of capturing the listener’s attention, as it is a technical skill of the engineer.

    
    

    I also want to add that I am very aware of style, and have learned from different sides of the engineering spectrum. I can mix Electronic as well as I can mix Indie Folk music, and I understand that every mix needs to be approached with completely different priorities.

    
    

    
    

    
    

    
    

    
    

    A Little Bit About Me:

    In 2015, I will be receiving my B.A. from The City College of NY with a major in audio engineering and minor in music. For the past five years, I worked for two major label-recording studios (Jungle City Studios and Avast Studios) where I was able to learn countless techniques from the likes of Engineers Ann Mincielli (Alicia Keys, Drake), Stuart White (Fun, Wiz Khalifa, Beyonce), and Jack Endino (Nirvana, Mudhoney). I have assisted recording albums such as Fun. - "Some Nights", Fleet Foxes "helplessness blues", Soundgarden "King Animal" and many more. I have also been tediously collecting gear and devoting more time to side mixing projects and freelance work. I am thrilled at the opportunity to have the time and artistic agency to develop a professional freelance portfolio that showcases my passion, high quality standards and attention to detail.

  • Because the line between the mixing-stage of a song so often overlaps with the composition or production process, below you can choose the best option for your project. Prices will be reduced if recordings allot points or royalties.

    
    

    Budget Mix: $200

    
    

    Lots of great artists have no money. That’s fine! Hey, we’ve all skipped one to many shifts while writing and recording our masterpieces, only to find that we can’t afford a full mix. All you really want is an engineer to spend a little time making the best mix possible, and leave the real deal for later down the road when a label is paying.     The straightforward mix. Your sounds will be changed so they fit together as best as possible. 
    
    In addition to hiring an engineer with solid gear, a technical education, and some great working experience, you are guaranteed the intimacy that comes with hiring small business. There is a serious effort to maintain a portfolio that consistently delivers nothing but quality. The job is not done until you love your mix!

    
    A fully analog mix is also available if you book time at your studio of choice. Recommendations are Jungle City's Red Room (NYC) or Avast's Studio B (Seattle). They have great gear, great sound, and you will be offered a discounted rate.

    This is where you hire me to include my creativity and judgment beyond the mixing job and into the production process. A full list of suggestions on improving the production will be provided, and sounds may be replaced/removed or added to bring the song to its fullest potential.   • As a Mixing Engineer, I take your recordings and blend them together to make a cohesive and great sounding song.

    
    

    Agreement:

    Before I accept any work, I require a demo of your project. Please include the name of the mastering engineer you plan on hiring for your album and some tracks you want your music to sound like.

    
    

    Delivery:

    After we have reached an agreement on the sound you are looking for, you deliver the Pro Tools, Logic or individual Wav or AIFF files to my server which I will provide upon our agreement. Please exclude all processing unless it is used to creatively morph the sound.

    
    

    The Mix:

    Where the song is mixed is based on your budget. Although I have state of the art equipment and almost every plugin available in my own studio, my best mixs have come from working in major studios with analog gear. (I personally prefer (Jungle City's Red Room in NY or Avast's Studio B in Seattle). Mixing usually takes anywhere from 2 days to a week. 

    
    

    Feedback:

    After the initial mix, I will send a copy to all parties involved and wait for feedback. After I have received everyones adjustment requests, I revisit the mix again. This can happen a few times.

    
    

    Return::

    Finally, when everyone is happy with the sound of the song, I upload a high resolution mix to a password secured server. Payments can be made here. I will include 5 versions of the mix:

    • Main Mix (the song)
    • Clean Mix (No bad words)
    • Instrumental Mix (No words)
    • Accapella Mix (Vocals only)
    • TV (Background vocal only)

    A hardcopy CD can be mailed if requested.
